There is a new BlackBerry, and this is not only has a touch screen but also a slider. The device was released today at an event with co-sponsor AT&T. The blackberry phone will be a QWERTY slider with a 3.2-inch, HVGA touchscreen display and an optical (directional) trackpad. The phone will use a new BlackBerry 6 OS with a “new rich Web browsing experience.” Inside, the phone will pack 512MB of RAM, plus 4GB of Flash storage, in addition to a microSD slot with a preloaded 4GB card.

The new blackberry is driven by a 624 MHz processor. The phone will offer tabbed browsing and multi-touch, pinch-to-zoom capabilities. All for $200 with a 2 year contract from AT&T. A new social networking feed application will come bundled with the device, with support for Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. The new blackberry will shoot photos with a 5 megapixel camera. The phone will support Wi-Fi with 802.11n networking.

RIM delivered a Wi-Fi-enabled BlackBerry Tour to market at last: The RIM BlackBerry Bold 9650 adds Wi-Fi and doubling the onboard memory. It still continues some of the features, as the world-roaming capabilities and QWERTY keyboard. RIM BlackBerry Bold 9650 has a similar design and functions to the tour, although somewhat heavier than the Tour. The Bold is the same size and has the same display, controls, and a well designed keyboard.
